Local advocacy is more essential than ever as California grapples with severe budget cuts to its public education system due to the economic impact of COVID-19. As local advocates, you have the power to create change in how the district allocates its resources.
Studies show arts education not only decreases feelings of anxiety, depression, and isolation but also positively impacts all-around academic performance. As students struggle through incredible loss, the arts are not a luxury, they are a tool for recovery. The California Alliance for Arts Education, in partnership with Arts for LA, created an advocacy toolkit and a training webinar empowering advocates to educate officials about the benefits of arts education.
